“I tell you…Australia…There is something that hangs in the air but is never acknowledged. And I know what it is.”

In an exciting cross-continental theatrical endeavour, combining the talents of two award-winning writers, Tom Holloway (Aus) and Simon Stephens (UK) we bring you Dead Centre Sea WallDead Centre was commissioned by Red Stitch Actors Theatre as a companion piece to Stephens’ acclaimed Sea Wall. Following acclaimed Seasons at Red Stitch, Darwin & Brisbane Festivals, Red Stitch and Red Line bring this unique world premiere collaboration to Sydney audiences for the first time.

A man and a woman have been torn apart by an extraordinary event and find themselves on opposites sides of the world. In Dead Centre we meet Helen, inspired by a Fosters ad, she journeys to the land of Neighbours and Uluru in search of solace. In Stephens’ Sea Wall, Alex invites us into his life and all that he cherishes. Bound together by their shared pain and living thousands of miles apart, Dead Centre / Sea Wall explores the lives of these two seemingly unconnected people in unexpected and heart-rending ways.
