7 — 30 JULY
BURN WITCH BURN
Adapted by Tasnim Hossain and Claudia Osborne
Directed By Claudia Osborne
Tansy is a witch. When her no-nonsense husband Norman discovers her powers, and burns all her charms, he realises how little his talents alone have to do with his success. Without Tansy’s protections, the boundaries between reality and supernatural blur; salvage, sacrifice, nightmare, reverie, pleasure, pain. As Norman’s world descends into hallucinatory hell, Tansy teeters on the edge of ecstasy and evil.
Exploring themes of liberation, independence and power, BURN WITCH BURN deep dives into the 'witch', embracing over a thousand years of witch iconography and pop culture into a dream-like fantasia. This dark theatrical descent into the monstrous feminine is not to be missed.

“Following Cleansed, is a world premiere by theatre outfit FERVOUR. We’re thrilled to present their latest devised piece, inspired by the 1962 British horror film Burn Witch Burn. With a team led by director Claudia Osborne and writer Tasnim Hossain, what starts as a 1960s domestic drama descends into a wordless theatrical and dark feminst fantasia. We’re more than ready for it.”
