Red Line Productions have been at the forefront of reigniting Sydney’s legendary and wildly intimate Old Fitz Theatre over the last five years.

These productions have been the recipients of over 60 nominations and over 20 wins for various awards from both the Sydney Theatre Awards and the GLUGS, including Red Line Productions  winning Best Independent Production at the 2017 Sydney Theatre Awards for A View From The Bridge by Arthur Miller, Best New Australian Work at the 2017 GLUGS Awards for the World Premiere of This Much Is True by Louis Nowra and Most Outstanding Independent Production at the 2018 GLUGS Awards for the World Premiere of King Of Pigs by Steve Rodgers.

A return season of the highly-acclaimed production of A View From The Bridge has since been announced as part of the historical Ensemble Theatre’s 2019 season, whilst Red Line’s Australian Premiere of Sarah DeLappe’s Pulitzer-Prize nominated play The Wolves enjoyed a packed-out return season in 2018 at Belvoir St Theatre, after a sold-out season at the Old Fitz in 2017.

Over their time at the Old Fitz Theatre, Red Line Productions have presented over 20 exclusively commissioned brand new Australian plays, including the World Premieres of This Much Is True by Louis Nowra and Degenerate Art by Toby Schmitz, as well as the New Fitz program which supported over 15 emerging writers and directors, and the Red Line Underground program showcasing groundbreaking fringe talent.

As the resident company at the Old Fitz Theatre, Red Line has co-presented countless Australian Premieres of incredible international works to rave reviews including The Humans by Stephen Karam, The Aliens by Annie Baker, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo by Rajiv Joseph, 4 Minutes 12 Seconds by James Fritz, Stalking The Bogeyman by Markus Potter, I Am My Own Wife by Doug Wright and many more.

Most importantly, the intimate 60-seat Old Fitz Theatre has been filled with a total of over 180,000 audience members seeing a show.

2020 will be a huge leap forward for Red Line Productions, with multiple shows touring around Australia and premiering at national festivals. A remarkable feat for a company which operates solely from box office sales combined with the generosity of individual philanthropists and a couple of passionate foundations.
